Dr. Pollok has 30 years of career experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology sector. Past positions include serving as President of ATCC, CSO of Life Technologies, SVP and co-founder of Ansata Therapeutics, VP of Discovery Biology at Aurora Biosciences/Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Sr. Research Investigator at Pfizer Central Research, and as Assistant Professor of Immunology at Wake Forest University where he held a Faculty Research Award from the American Cancer Society. Dr. Pollok is an inventor on four issued US patents; one of those technologies having been instrumental to the preclinical development of the malignant melanoma drug vemurafenib (Zelboraf®). Dr. Pollok has served on advisory committees for various non-profit organizations including Cure SMA, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Virginia BIO, NIH Center for Regenerative Medicine, UCSD’s Dean’s Office and UVA's Licensing & Ventures Group.
